• Annual Golf Scramble

  One of our Signature Events, the Chamber Annual Golf Scramble is guaranteed to be a good time! This is a four person scramble with a shotgun start. Teams will be separated into two flights by average team handicap. Sign up as a team or individually to be placed on a team, but all players must be registered in advance, as the number of players is limited to about 125. Sponsors should feel free to have give-away prizes, to hold your own contests, to display products, to dress up in your best golf outfits, and to serve refreshments purchased through our venue, although everything must be set prior to the start of the tournament. So, bring your lawn chair, umbrella and sunscreen and be ready for fun day at Hawktree Golf Course on June 13th, 2011!

  In honor of Military Appreciation Month, the Military Affairs Task Force hosts Brats for the Brave each May. With nearly 200 participants the first year, this barbeque is an opportunity for the business community and the community as a whole to show their support and appreciation of the men and women who so bravely serve our country. There is no charge to attend the event and businesses are encouraged to offer up their military discounts during the lunch. The armed services not only support our community through safety, but they are a large part of the local economy as well.   The purpose of Ethics Day is to provide an opportunity for students to increase an understanding of values and ethics in the workplace and in society. In light of the high-profile corporate scandals that have made headlines in the recent years, we feel it is extremely important to have our community’s business people talk to high school students about the importance of doing business ethically. It is important to spread the word of integrity and respect and to challenge students to consider their everyday actions. It is also important for them to believe that success can be achieved legally with great personal satisfaction. It is only with the support of our business community that we are able to accomplish such an interactive event. It takes place in November of 2011 and involves over 450 area high school Juniors and Seniors in round table discussions. We have area business people as “mediators”, but the students have control of the discussions.   With an MSA now more than 100,000 people, Bismarck-Mandan is transitioning from a big town to a small city and we have the jobs, retail, and residential growth to prove it. Each month relocation packets are requested from all over our nation as interest in our area grows. Be at the forefront of potential residents minds as they contemplate moving to our growing community! The Chamber offers the opportunity to provide your company's information in the Community Information Packet which is provided to companies, visitors and employees moving to the Bismarck-Mandan area.   The purpose of this innovative program is to provide an in-school introduction to the economics of free enterprise and to the world of business in the area’s elementary schools.
