• Annual Golf Scramble

  One of our Signature Events, the Chamber Annual Golf Scramble is guaranteed to be a good time! This is a four person scramble with a shotgun start. Teams will be separated into two flights by average team handicap. Sign up as a team or individually to be placed on a team, but all players must be registered in advance, as the number of players is limited to about 130. Sponsors should feel free to have give-away prizes, to hold your own contests, to display products, to dress up in your best golf outfits, and to serve refreshments purchased through our venue, although everything must be set prior to the start of the tournament. So, bring your lawn chair, umbrella and sunscreen and be ready for fun day June 15th, 2009!

• Student Chamber of Commerce - Career Fair

  We want to make Bismarck-Mandan students aware of the excellent job opportunities that will exist in North Dakota when they enter the job market. Many students have their minds set on leaving North Dakota after high school in order to find optimal job opportunities. This does not need to be the case! Career Fair encourages students to not only think of what industry they would like to work in, but to additionally consider what specific jobs in an industry will be experiencing growth in coming years. Knowing what jobs will be in high demand upon graduation can have an important influence on our college bound students.   In an organized seven weeks, volunteers raise the funding for our Chamber programs for the entire year.   The purpose of this innovative program is to provide an in-school introduction to the economics of free enterprise and to the world of business in the area’s elementary schools.   Each year, many new businesses are started in Bismarck-Mandan. Some of those starting businesses have extensive technical expertise but little or no experience in managing or operating a business. To increase the success of small business in the community, the Chamber will partner with Bismarck State College and the University of Mary to create a Chamber Academy. This education program will provide to small business people an academic background to running a business. The Chamber Academy will meet twice per month September through April with sessions being taught by a combination of professors and business people. Through our partnership with BSC and the U of Mary, we will offer quality curriculum to earn you continuing education credits and Chamber certification! We look forward to helping our small business Members become even more successful! A graduation luncheon will be held in May to recognize our graduates.
